What is a water spray arm for dishwashers?

A water spray arm distributes water throughout the dishwasher during the wash cycle. It’s at the bottom or upper part of the dishwasher's interior and has spinning nozzles or jets that spray water onto the dishes and utensils. 

The spray arm ensures thorough cleaning by dispersing water with force, effectively removing food particles and debris from the items being washed. 

When do you replace it?

Continuous use, exposure to high temperatures, and hard water mineral deposits cause the spray arm to develop problems. These include clogging of the spray nozzles, cracking or breaking of the arm, or reduced rotation due to worn-out bearings or seals.
