Description

Door spring for smoothly opening your dishwasher door

The dishwasher door spring ensures smooth opening and closing of the door. With stretchy coils on each side, it connects the door to the dishwasher. During the cleaning cycle, it keeps the door securely closed and ensures proper sealing.

When do you replace the door hinge spring?

The door hinge spring should be replaced when you experience difficulty in opening or closing the dishwasher door, the door is not staying closed properly, or the door slams shut unexpectedly.

If you notice any of these issues or if the door hinge spring appears visibly damaged, stretched, broken, or disconnected, replace it.

A prefect fit

Door spring on the dishwasher broke just before Chrsitmas the replacement from Ransom ordered, the website being very easy to find the part. Delivery too quite a bit longer than normal but this was due to the postal strike, but at least the part arrive safely in the end. The springs are quite easy to fix, just take care as the side panels of the washer can have some rather sharp edges. Always happy with the service and range of parts from Ransom.

Dishwasher door spring

I replaced the lhs spring last year and this year had to replace the rhs. Once I got the top panel and side panel off, it was no problem locating the broken parts of the spring and replace the new one, after greasing it and sliding it into its protection sheath. On with the panels and the job was done, no bother!

Ease of Fitting

Easy to fit when you know how!

I was not sure if one or both springs had broken as the door dropped very suddenly so to be safe I ordered two. There are helpful instructional videos online but what you have to do is to remove first the top and then the kick plate followed by the side panel after which the broken spring is revealed. In my case I removed the wrong side first! It is important to grease the lower end of the new spring to avoid creaky noises when opening and shutting as well as excessive wear. I now have a spare for the next time!

Straightforward Repair

Hotpoint dishwasher door - easily available parts and reference videos on the internet made this a straightforward repair. I ended up buying 2 springs on the basis that if one has failed then the other side may fail sometime soon.
