Error codes are model dependent, so the same brand may have more than one listed.
| Code | Brand | What it means | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| A5 | Ariston | Means the machine has overfilled with water or the correct water level cannot be detected. It is usually caused by a faulty pressure switch, a blocked pressure chamber or hose, or a malfunctioning drain pump. | High |
| E2 | Ariston | Means the machine cannot drain the water or is not filling properly. It is usually caused by a blocked drain pump, clogged filters, kinked hoses, or a faulty water pressure sensor. | Medium |
| F13 | Ariston | Means the unit cannot detect or manage water intake, signalled by lights one, three, and four flashing. It is usually caused by a faulty water fill valve, a faulty flow sensor, or a main circuit board fault. | High |
| F6 | Ariston | Means the machine is not detecting water entering the unit within the expected time. It is usually caused by a water supply failure, a fill timeout, or a blocked filter. | High |
| H20 | Ariston | Means the machine is not filling with enough water within the allotted time. It is usually caused by a closed water tap, a kinked inlet hose, or a clogged inlet filter. | High |
| F6 | Hotpoint | Means a water fill timeout, where the machine cannot detect that it is filling within the required time. It is usually caused by a closed tap, a kinked hose, a blocked filter, or a faulty water inlet valve. | High |
| F7 | Hotpoint | Means a water filling problem, where the machine fails to fill properly or detects insufficient water flow within the allotted time. It is usually caused by a closed water tap, a kinked inlet hose, a faulty flow meter or water sensor, or a defective inlet valve. | High |
| A10 | Indesit | Means a fill fault, with a short or open circuit on the water fill valve triac. It is usually caused by a failed fill valve, faulty heating circuit components, or an inadequate water supply. | High |
| E1 | Indesit | Means a water intake failure or a water leak, where the machine cannot fill properly or has detected water in the base. It is usually caused by a closed water tap, a kinked supply hose, a clogged filter, or a faulty water inlet valve. | High |
| F6 | Indesit | Means a water fill timeout, where the machine is not detecting water entering or is taking too long to fill. It is usually caused by a closed water tap, a kinked hose, a blocked inlet filter, or a faulty water inlet valve. | High |
| H20 | Indesit | Means a water supply fault, where the machine is not filling or not detecting enough water within the required time. It is usually caused by a closed tap, a kinked hose, a clogged inlet filter, or a faulty pressure sensor. | High |
| E6 | Whirlpool | Means the unit detects no water, low water pressure, or incorrect water temperature, shown as F6E6. It is usually caused by a closed water tap, a kinked supply hose, a faulty water inlet valve, or a broken flow meter. | High |
| F5 | Whirlpool | Means a water detection or drainage fault has been detected. It is usually caused by a blocked filter, a faulty water inlet valve, a faulty float switch, or a rotor blocked in the wash motor. | High |
| F6 | Whirlpool | Means the unit is not receiving water or cannot detect it, shown as F6E1 or E1 F6. It is usually caused by a closed water supply valve, a kinked inlet hose, a faulty inlet valve, or a faulty flow meter. | High |
| H2 | Whirlpool | Means the dishwasher is not filling properly or cannot detect water entering the unit, shown as H2O. It is usually caused by a closed tap, a kinked inlet hose, or a blocked inlet screen. | High |

General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your dishwasher.
Safety: Switch off at the mains and turn off the water supply before you start.
This is a genuine electric solenoid water valve for regulating water flow in your dishwasher. Made of plastic and metal. Fits seamlessly to your dishwasher’s water supply system.
The valve works through electricity so it only opens when the cycle starts. It's only there that water flows in, and closes when the desired amount is reached. Automatically responds to signals from the dishwasher's control panel or timer. Very much efficient for taking water in.
Also prevents flooding by stopping water flow when the dishwasher is inactive.
This electric solenoid water valve is manufactured by Hotpoint. Also works on other dishwasher brands like Ariston, Indesit, and Whirlpool.
