What is a drain pump for dishwashers?
The drain pump empties the dishwasher's tub of dirty water when the washing cycle is over. While the dishwasher is running, water containing food particles, detergent residue, and other debris accumulates.
The water is pumped into either a designated drain or the plumbing system of the house through a drain pipe.
