Senses the oven temperature and switches the heat on and off to hold the setting you choose.
Tick the symptoms your appliance is showing. We’ll tell you how confident we are this part is the fix.
Error codes are model dependent, so the same brand may have more than one listed.
| Code | Brand | What it means | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| ER15 | Bosch | Means the oven control has detected the appliance overheating. It is usually caused by a faulty oven temperature sensor (thermostat) or a button that has been held down too long or become stuck. | High |
| ER3 | Bosch | Means the oven has overheated. It is usually caused by a faulty cooling fan, sensor, or control board, particularly when the fault persists after the appliance has cooled. | High |
| E4 | Neff | Means there is a voltage fault, incorrect installation, or a temperature sensor problem. It is usually caused by power supply problems on induction hobs, or a faulty temperature sensor on ovens. | Medium |
| E5 | Neff | Means the oven cannot properly detect its own temperature through the NTC probe, or there is a communication fault between the control boards. It is usually caused by a faulty temperature sensor, a board communication fault, or an overheating event. | High |
| E1 | Siemens | Means there is a fault in the temperature sensor, electronic control board, or communication between modules, often causing one or more zones to stop working. It is usually caused by a control board fault, moisture around the controls, or poor ventilation. | Medium |

General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your cooker.
Safety: Switch off and unplug at the mains before you start.
This thermostat is a genuine replacement part.
If you notice inconsistent oven temperatures, check your thermostat. It regulates and sustains your desired oven cooking temperature.
Also adjust the heating elements when you want to bake, roast, or broil your food in the oven. Gives precise cooking temperature to prevent overcooking or undercooking.
With the thermostat regulating the oven for overheating, there’s less risk of fire and other cooking accidents.
This oven thermostat is from Neff. Also fits Balay, Blaupunkt, Bosch, Constructa, Junker, Siemens, Tecnik cookers and hobs.

Good priced item and made well. Well packaged fairly easy to fit..
No problems. Great product. Arrived on time. Great service
The thermostat fitted correctly and with not too much difficulty. it is necessary to remove the oven as it is fitted but subsequently the fitting is relatively simple. The price compared to other sources was good and presumably there is no difference in the quality. Ransom were very helpful as they have been when I ordered other spares for my Dyson.
Usual excellent service from Ransom Spares. Original part in stock and quickly despatched. On this occasion slow delivery due to post office strikes, it took 10 days to arrive. End.
Never done anything like this before so really pleased when the part fitted perfectly. Delivery really quick and price very competitive
Does this thermostat have 2 or 4 electrical terminals? My original part has 4 terminals - Part: 55.17069.080 as fitted to a Neff Oven - E-Nr: B1442S0GB/01. Thanks, Gavin
Hi Gavin, this now has two terminals on the back.
