It’s at the top of your oven so it sends heat downward. You can grill, broil, or roast your food placed on the top rack of your oven. Depending on the temperature set, you can also crisp, caramelise, or brown your dishes.
Grill elements are the most easily broken oven parts due to their brittle nature.
Notice patches that are not glowing or have a different colour on your grill element? It's a good sign to replace your grill element.

Cheese on toast at last.
Burnt the other one out as l left it on overnight by accident, 10 minutes to fit and now I can enjoy cheese on toast again. The only thing I don’t like is the wife kicks me out of bed on a Saturday morning to make it. Great item, fast delivery
