Very good quality

I purchased this thermostat for our oven. The quality of the item is very good. From start to finish it took me just over an hour and a half to fit and found the job easy to do taking photos of the wires on the connections on the old thermostat before removing them to fit the new thermostat to ensure that I fitted them back on to the correct terminals. Cooker now working as it should.

Easy to fit, although the actual thermostat ‘wire’ needs careful handling. Did the job perfectly, oven now working properly!

Perfect product, excellent value

Working perfectly and at the best price I could find. (Fitting took longer than expected (no fault of the product) because I have an electric/gas combi oven and my oven has been poorly engineered with respect to getting access to do the installation - suggest look at Youtube videos for electric oven install, plus, a video for getting access under the gas hobs.)

Ease of Fitting

Easy peasy.

Unfortunately all the videos on fitting this part were on a separate fan oven and we have a gas hob I.e. duel fuel cooker, but once the gas hob is removed it’s the same procedure. The new thermostat fitted really easily I just followed the route of the old one, being very careful with unrolling the capillary and feeding it under the wiring and gas feeds, I had the back removed to feed it into the cooker clipped it in place an re- assembled the cooker. About twenty minutes all in. The cooker worked a treat right off the bat, and saved us a fortune. Thank goodness for Ransoms!

Is this part easily replaced without an engineer
By Maureen - Suffolk - 20/10/2021
Hi Maureen, we have a page and and video showing how to replace an oven thermostat. I'd recommend watching this to give you an idea of the work you would need to undertake.

The main oven gets too hot and doesnt seem to be able to be turned down and pilot light doesnt go off when oven has , reached its temperature ,is it a new thermastat that is needed . cooker is only 2 1/2 years old ,and needing new door seal too .
By jackie - lincolnshire - 22/11/2021
Hi Jackie, unfortunately we cannot guarantee the thermostat would fix this. I'd recommend contacting an engineer to see if they can confirm. If you submit a part enquiry with your full model details we can confirm this thermostat is correct for your model.

My Indesit main oven is not reaching required temperature. It only reaches 100 and doesn’t go as high as 220 or max. The fan works okay so I wondered if a new element is needed.
By James Atkinson - Weston-Super-Mare - 18/02/2022
Hi James, if the element is heating up, but not reaching the temperature it's set to, this is most likely to be a faulty thermostat.

My main oven (hot point double oven), is not getting hot. The light and fan work but the oven is cold, top oven works. Do you think I need a thermostat or element?
By Jane - Nottinghamshire - 12/08/2022
Hi Jane, if the oven isn't heating up at all, it's most likely to be the element, however if it's heating up but not regulating it's most likely to be the thermostat.
