General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your cooker.
Safety: Switch off and unplug at the mains and let the oven cool before you start.
This is a genuine fan motor insulation plate. Installed between the fan motor and the oven cavity or other components.
Insulation behind your oven fan motor disintegrated? The plate acts as an insulator and a barrier. It shields the fan motor from excessive heat during the cooking process.
No overheating that can damage the oven motor and other components. It also lessens the risk of cooking accidents, especially a fire.
The fan motor insulation plate is from Hotpoint. Also fits Ariston, Belling, Cannon, Creda, Export, Indesit, Jackson, and Whirlpool cookers and hobs.
Before ordering, please verify that this part is suitable for your model using our compatibility checker.

The following DIY repair video should assist you in fitting this part. However, the exact procedure may differ depending on your make and model.
Very pleased that this insulation plate was shown when I was looking for the fan motor and I ordered it, as the old plate disintegrated when I removed the old fan motor. It was very easy to fit and great value for money.
Reliable and prompt service as usual from Ransom spares. Great product, easy to fit.
Did the job just fine and was definitely needed. The original fell apart as I removed the old motor.
As stated IT IS a genuine spare for cooker. Forgot to order with fan motor - I expect in most cases a new insulation plate is needed; as noted as recommended by Ransoms in other reviews.
Exactly the same as original. A lot easier to fit than old one which was in bits
I moved my Hotpoint DHS53X and something made of glass inside the oven shattered into hundreds of pieces. The main oven no longer switches off when turned off at knob. Is the Insulation Plate above the right part to install? It looks like metal to me in the picture but can't be sure. Can you confirm this for me? Otherwise, I suspect its the thermostat. Thanks
Hi Stephen, this insulation plate wouldn't stop the oven turning off. I'd recommend contacting an engineer or the manufacturers directly to see if they can offer technical advice.
Hi. I need a new fan for my indesit FIMD231XS and have read that it is a good idea to replace the insulation plate at the same time. However, the plate is not shown in your video and indeed I cannot find any video online that shows where it is fitted. Do you know if the plate is fitted as standard on my oven please? I presume that it simply sits between the fan motor and the oven. Regards Trevor
Hi, yes, the insulation plate sits between the rear oven panel and the fan motor.
