It makes a difference
We had to ensure the area where the seal fits, was really clean. The new seal was a bit fiddly to install, especially in the corners but it fits snugly. There was no need to trim it. It's made a big difference in making the oven quiet and heating up more quickly.

Do you have to use sealant to fit this seal? Is it meant to fit over the edge of the glass, or just sit behind it?

Hi Debbie, there is a slit in this seal for the glass to fit inside to hold them together,

I am having great difficulty obtaining the correct part for my Hotpoint UY46X/2. Require the seal for the glass panel in the top oven. Do you supply the exact part or, is it necessary to trim the seal for the main oven? Hope you can help.
