How does a circular heating element work for your oven? 

When you turn on your oven, electrical current flows through the circular heating element. The element is typically made of a high-resistance wire, which converts the electrical energy into heat energy through resistance. 

As the current passes through the wire, it encounters resistance, causing the wire to heat up. The heat is radiated into the oven cavity, raising the temperature for baking or cooking.

Why does it need replacing?

The circular heating element in your oven can wear out over time due to the constant heating and cooling cycles it experiences. This can make the wire inside the element weak, brittle, or damaged, which affects its ability to generate and distribute heat effectively. 

Accidental impacts or mishandling during cleaning or cooking can cause physical damage to the element, like cracks or breaks, impacting its performance. The intense heat produced by the element can also lead to burnout over time, especially if exposed to high temperatures or sudden electrical surges.
