The back and sides come off first (lots of screws),then a few more screws on side brackets so the top rings can be lifted up. This gives access to the screws holding the fan in place. Fit fan, plug in electrics job done. The old fan had worn rubber spacers so the fan blades hit the housing making a very loud noise! An electric screwdriver (or drill plus screwdriver bit)makes job much easier.
