General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your cooker.
Safety: Switch off and unplug at the mains before you start.
A drawer lock on the oven prevents the bottom storage drawer commonly found in some ovens, from opening accidentally during cooking or while the oven is in use. It ensures that the drawer remains securely closed while the oven functions.
The drawer lock can be damaged with forceful or improper handling of the drawer, overloading the drawer with heavy items, or accidentally applying excessive pressure while attempting to open or close it.
Excessive heat exposure and spillage from the oven also lead to damage to the drawer lock mechanism.
This drawer lock is a genuine Bosch oven replacement part. It also fits Balay, Bosch, Constructa, Gaggenau, Junker, Neff, Siemens cookers and hobs. Use our compatibility checker to see if this part fits your model.
Warming drawer would only intermittently lock. My past experiences of Siemens service hadn’t been good; last time that one of our ovens was changed under warranty the service engineers managed to damage a special finish drawer unit then denied liability for the incident, I therefore decided to diagnose and fix myself as the unit was only just out of warranty. Research on the Internet revealed that Siemens etc. don’t actually make many of their own appliances; they are fabricated by a specialist company in Europe then rebadged and marketed accordingly. I determined that the catch was somehow defective even though it functioned perfectly most of the find when bench tested. Siemens prices for spares can be absurd and Random fulfilled what I needed, when I needed it, and at a very competitive price. Fitting took less than five minutes as I knew what I was doing by then, and it worked perfectly first time. Top marks for a top supplier.
Direct swap for failed catch on a Siemens warming drawer and only takes a minute to fit. Good price and prompt delivery.
How do I remove the lock
Hi Latifessa, I'm afraid we cannot offer technical or fitting instructions. I'd recommend contacting an engineer to see if they can advise.
