Inner oven door glass for efficient and safe heat insulation
Inner oven door glasses effectively insulate heat by forming a barrier between the heated interior of the oven and the outside environment. The several layers of glass reduce heat transfer to the oven door's outer surface, making it safe to touch even while the oven is working at high temperatures.
When to replace your inner door glass

Good product but may be a hard fit for an old oven
Product arrived promptly and was right dimensions. Unfortunately it turned out that because my cooker was an old model, the original glass insert was around 3mm thick whereas the new one was nearly 4mm. After 2 hours of tapping (which quickly progressed to bashing)away with a rubber mallet, the glass was nearly in place however the final 3 cm was a nightmare and I finally resorted to taking the oven door to a local engineering company and they completed the job using a hydraulic press (no the glass didnt break!). Apparently all toughened glass is now made to 4mm thickness in Europe so this wasnt the fault of Ransom Spares. Also in case your oven is an older model be sure to clean the insert channels/grooves well before trying to fit the new glass and add some lubricant (I used butter!) Good luck!
