Description

Your carbon filters take part in keeping your kitchen clean-smelling

When cooking, these filters in the cooker hood pull in airborne particles, smoke, grease, and odours. The activated carbon inside binds with and holds onto these contaminants.

What damages your cooker hood carbon filter?

A cooker hood carbon filter gets damaged when it becomes saturated with the chemicals it has absorbed. It results in reduced odour removal and lingering cooking aromas.

The buildup of grease or dirt can compromise the filter's efficiency, blocking airflow and reducing its suction power. Physical damage, like tears or cracks, can also impair the filter's effectiveness.

Would this work in my cooker hood?

This carbon filter by Hygena is a genuine cooker hood replacement part. It also fits AEG, Alno, Arthur Martin, Candy, De Dietrich, Electrolux, Faure, Homark, Juno, Moffat, Proline, Rex, Schreiber, and Zanussi cooker hoods. Use our compatibility checker to see if this part fits your model.

Great product, very easy to fit

Very easy to fit, and comes with very useful stickers to remind when to replace product. Little bit disappointed in length of time between changes (only 6 months) but still happy overall

Questions And Answers

Our carbon filter unit is clogged with grease and doesn't work efficiently and needs replacing. We bought our Homark extractor unit in 1998 together with a B & Q kitchen but do not know the model number and wondered where it can be found? Also which filter will I need?
By Valerie - Robertsbridge, E. Sussex - 26/07/2020
Hi Valerie, I'm afraid we'd need the model number to find the correct part. The model number is normally found inside the cooker hood or on the side of the cooker hood casing. To check inside, you will normally need to remove the metal filters. Once you have this, please submit a part enquiry so we can look to find the correct filters.

Should there be 1 or 2 carbon filters in use with my hood? ZHC60136X. We bought a new build 5 years ago only to now discover they never installed the filters.
By Yiannis - Middlesbrough - 05/10/2021
Hi Yiannis, there are usually two carbon filters in the cooker hood.
