Great service from Ransomes sending out the replacement part nice and quickly. The extractor fan started to play up, initially fan setting 2 wouldn't work, then it was difficult to switch between fan settings, then it was difficult to turn on & off. I removed the filter and undid around a dozen screws to remove a retaining plate, at this point be careful as this big square plate also partially holds in the lights. It's then an easy job to remove this control panel and replace it (2 screws and unclip the wire harness). I was a bit miffed that this part failed at all and on inspection of the old part, oil and grease had gotten into the whole unit as there were gaps where it joined together. Unfortunately it cannot be completely sealed as the buttons need free movement. Replacement part resolved all the problems and the buttons have gone from a sticky spongy feel to a proper click.
