Hotpoint Cooker Hood Control BoardC00142313

I used this to repair a Hotpoint HS63X. I was concerned that the part number was different but it works fine and my wife likes the way the lights now dim during on/off. No problem to fit but I suggest that you take a picture of the old board as the connectors are in slightly different position. Curiously, the old board appeared to have been fitted with the live and neutral wires reversed but the labelling of the new board has changed and is now consistent with how the wires were! Seems like a lot of money when compared to the price of a new hood but cheaper here than elsewhere.

I did think of getting the extractor hood looked at by a service guy but decided to take the risk and fix the problem myself. I thought it could only be the control card. Found the replacement on Random Spares webpage. Cost was some £15.00 below a competitor. Ordered, delivered and installed (by myself) within two days. All works well now. Thanks a lot Random Spares.
