My chainsaw was running hot because it wasn't getting enough oil to the bar. Having stripped and cleaned this several times, it was still no better. My local Huskie dealer would replace the whole oil pump assembly, which with tear down (str*p is a banned word on this site), repair and re-assemble labour costs, about £75. It took me 15 minutes to str*p down, replace the oiler piston and reassemble the saw. The only slightly tricky thing is removing and replacing the clutch but just check YouTube for instruction. Immediate improvement, with saw producing good oil spray at high revs, but not using an excessive amount. Much less friction and heating of the bar, plus peace of mind knowing that once again my saw is 'all systems go'.
