This is an important safety feature on the chain saw and it had snapped -meaning the chain could not be locked whilst the motor was running. The saw is ex-forestry and getting on a bit. I found the part on the exploded diagrams and ordering was simple. It arrived promptly. The only slight difficulty is compressing the spring whilst refitting but not really a problem if you’re used to stripping down the saw. Good as new and back in use.
