Description

The capacitor power boosts your tumble dryer

When the tumble dryer's motor is turned on, the capacitor releases energy and boosts power. The additional force facilitates the motor starting through lowering initial resistance and inertia.

After the motor starts, the capacitor keeps a steady power source going to guarantee smooth functioning.

What damages the capacitor?

A dryer capacitor has a finite lifespan, just like any other electronic component. It might endure normal wear and tear over time, which could cause a deterioration in function and lead to failure.

The capacitor may overheat due to excessive heat created inside the dryer from continuous use, inadequate ventilation, or defective parts. High temperatures can cause the dielectric material to deteriorate, which can cause the capacitor to break down or lose capacitance.

Would this capacitor work in my tumble dryer?

This capacitor is a genuine Candy tumble dryer replacement part. It also fits Bayer, Brother, Cylinda, Fortress, Friac, Hoover, Iberna, Kelvinator, Maytag, Ostein, Otsein, Otsein-Hoover, Rosieres, Teka, Vendome, Vyatka, Westinghouse, and Zerowatt tumble dryers. Right product, easy to fit

Had to dismantle my drier to replace the capacitor. Drier only 18 months old. This part was easy to fit and the exact replacement, however you need to still keep the nut and star washer from the original capacitor as the new one does not come with them. Drier is back working fine.

Great product

This is a great product as is the belt I changed at the same time. It was a pain in the rear to fit the cap as I had to almost completely disassemble the dryer first. Works a treat again now though.

Great product, awkward fitting

My tumble dryer had been letting me down for ages not being able to start. Fortunately (or not) the door catch was broken so I could manually start it by giving it a gentle spin after pressing the start button (!) and then just put something in front of the door to hold it shut! Research told me I needed a new capacitor so I ordered from RansomSpares (my go-to for such things). The only challenge was with the fitting, but this was not any fault of the device, more that my dryer has a wrap around casing making access very difficult. Once I'd butchered the casing (slight exaggeration but I did have to pop a couple of rivets to pull the side open), removal of the old device and fitting the new one was very straightforward. Once everything was put back together, the dryer worked first time and has continued to start first time, every time, since I fitted the capacitor. Job Done!!

long winded job but satisfying to do

My dryer started the dreaded buzzing and was reluctance to start. I looked it up and found that it was probably the capacitor. I know where it is located because just a year ago, I had to replace the belt tensioning pulley. The capacitor is of course located about as innaccessibly as it can be and the machine has to be virtually completely dismantled to get at it. Plenty of videos on line. Although In my case , the job is not made easier, due to my machine being stacked on top of the washing machine. After I had ordered the capacitor I remembered that the dryer is over 4 years old and that the belt was possibly a candidate for replacement. I therefore decided that as I was going into the innards of the machine anyway, I may as well replace that at the same time, so I ordered a replacement belt. Too bad I didn't think earlier, I would have saved the postage . I pulled the machine out from atop the washing machine onto the top of my workmate bench and so I was able to work round it, albeit standing on a stepstool to do the work at the top. However having the machine up high saved my back when working round the motor Hardest part by far is the removal and replacement of the half duct by the exhaust fan. This is a really fiddly job and I still don't know how I did it, either last year or this morning - just wriggle it and pull and again until it's free and refitting the reverse. I took the opportunity to give the whole thing a good clean inside. It's amazing how much crud collects in the case. I put it all back together and tried it - success. Instant start, no buzzing. All in all really satisfying job done that took about 2½ hours The tools needed were all in my £15 screwdriver and drill bit set from Aldi. If I can do it, (79 next month), anyone should be able to do this job provided they can use a screwdriver and socket spanners. Excellent service from Ransomes whose system made finding the parts a doddle. Thank you.

Saved me a fortune!

Hoover told me I needed a complete unit including motor at £120+ as everything was hard wired. After searching online I discovered this and thought it was worth the gamble for the price. A friend fitted it and said it was straightforward, and it works absolutely perfectly. I am absolutely delighted!

Tumble dryer capacitor

Great bit of kit but when I got the original out of my tumble dryer it looked different so I was worried it wouldnt work however once I gained access to the assembly it proved to fit well and worked first time I was very pleased as the cost saving of this capacitor against the cost of calling out an engineer made my day

life saviour

The part was exactly the one I needed and arrived in good time. It was very fairly priced. Fitting it was a nightmare due to the positioning of it, but it was a blessing after finishing re assembling the dryer. My tumble dryer is now back in action.
