Description

The drum shock absorber lessens vibrations of the revolving drum

A drum shock absorber in a washing machine stabilises the drum during the spin cycle while at the same time dampening vibrations. It lessens the excessive shaking or bouncing of the machine as it absorbs the shock and movement from the rotating drum.

Signs my washing machine’s shock absorber is bad

If you notice increased vibrations or excessive noise during the spin cycle, it could be a sign of a faulty shock absorber. Once the washing machine displays unstable movement or wobbling during operation, it is likely that the shock absorber needs to be inspected too.

Would this drum shock absorber work in my washing machine?

Good shock absorbers, fixed the problem

I have a Bosch washing machine which was shaking badly on spin cycle. The shock absorbers were worn out. New ones were pricey, but relatively easy to fit and solved the problem. Delivery from Ransom Spares was prompt.

Aged shock absorbers

I own a Siemens washing machine whose shock absorbers (after 15 years service) have failed. The replacements from RansomSpares are genuine manufacturer spares and, if you are reasonably flexible, not too difficult to fit. I also fitted new brushes to the motor which is also quite easy after removing the motor. The whole repair took about 3 hours without rushing. I am very pleased with the quality and service provided by RansomSpares and would not hesitate to use them again.

Questions And Answers

1 Answer(s)
How many shock absorbers do I need to order for my WM12S494GB machine and should I replace any other parts at the same time?
By Adrian - Stroud Glos - 05/06/2022
Hi Adrian, there are 3 shock absorbers shown on the diagram for your model. I'd recommend contacting an engineer to see if they can advise if any other parts would be required.

How many shock absorbers do I need for WM12P360GB/03 are they all the same or different part Nos. Thanks Chris.
By Chris - Gloucestershire - 05/03/2024
Hi Chris, these are supplied individually, so you would need to purchase 3 to replace them all.
