Fiddly, but worth it.
Dishwasher stopped working due to leakage. Sourced this and after a fiddly time dismantling and reassembling glad to report the dishwasher worked again, just in time for Christmas! Saved a small fortune in not buying a new dishwasher at an expensive time of year. Result!
Fiddly but Excellent
Doable with patience. Best done with machine at eye level rather than sat on the floor! No specialist tools or knowledge required just steadily replace the part like for like. Use YouTube for hints.
Easy Fix To An IKEA Dishwasher
My IKEA Dishwasher sprang a leak from one of the two short molded pipes that attach to the Sump Union, as the two pipes are glued to the Sump Union, you have to change the complete unit. I was suprised how many different Dishwasher brands this unit fits and for £16, I thought it was a bargain. Removal and fitting was straightforward though you do need some pliers or grips with a wide jaw to compress the large spring pipe clips on the surrounding pipework. Four pozi-screws inside and one union sensor to remove and the unit is off in under 10 minutes. Fitting took 20 minutes as the spring clips are fiddly. There is probably a proper tool to make re-fitting the clips easier but I managed without. Happy with the job, no more leak and potentially saved £250 as my first thought was for a new dishwasher.
