How to Fix an Oven Door: Replace Door Hinges

Video transcript:

If your oven door won't close fully or heat is escaping from the top of your cooker door then it might be the door hinges that need replacing.  I’m going to demonstrate how to replace the door hinges on this Indesit oven.  The procedure is very similar on most makes and models.  Safety first, always ensure that your appliance is isolated from the mains before carrying out any repairs.

First of all we need to remove the door.  To do this we need to open up the two clips on the hinges.  Now holding the door firmly as we lift up the door the hinges will separate themselves from the main oven.

Next we need to remove the two screws that are holding the inner door to the outer door.  Now we can remove the 4 screws near the door hinges and then separate the inner door from the outer door.

The two screw holding the door hinges in place can now be removed and the cooker door hinges can now be replaced.
