This is a genuine capacitor for your lawn mower.
Provides extra electrical push to the motor when starting up to get the blades spinning and tackle thick grass without stalling.
If your lawn mower doesn’t start or takes longer than usual to fire up, it could be a sign that the capacitor isn’t providing enough boost. You might hear a buzzing sound as it tries to start but fails to engage. Change it with this replacement part.
Watch our DIY video below on how to fit a new one.
This capacitor is from Flymo. Also fits Gardena and Husqvarna lawn mowers.
Before ordering, please verify that this part is suitable for your model using our compatibility checker.

Safety Warning - Always unplug from the mains before carrying out any repairs.
Having also purchased new switch for my Flymo decided to add the capacitor and all is well, took just minutes and saved time and money
The Cap was very easy to replace and was done in just a few seconds.
Great - just push the legs into the new switch I'd bought to replace a broken one and it all works perfectly. It made sense to replace this capacitor when replacing the switch. It's great your able to buy the individual parts for Flymo mowers so you can easily and cheaply fix the bit that's broken with the help from Ransom's!
Bought this to go with the replacement switch for a Flymo - all works fine, so a whole lot cheaper than buying a new lawnmower! Really easy to install.
Just a push fit into the new switch, don't even have to trim the leads
If the capasitor has blown will it stop the mower from working ?
Hi Steve, if the capacitor has gone there may not be enough power to start the motor.
My Flymo works but does not have the same power it used to and easily comes to a hault in difficult grass areas and does not cut as effectively as it once used to. Th full power is just not spinning at full capacity- I wondered if the capacitor or switch was to blame for this problem.
Hi Matt, the capacitor is used to start the motor, so once it's running I can't imaging it would have any effect. I'm afraid we can't diagnose faults, so I'd recommend contacting an engineer or the manufacturers directly to see if they're able to offer any advice as to what part you require.
