The grill element delivers heat downward
The grill element in your oven sends heat downward to ensure that the top of your dish is heated evenly. This even distribution of heat helps prevent uneven cooking and those undesired browning marks.
Why do grill heating elements fail?

OEM product at a great price
Only paying a third of the price of other spares providers I was expecting a low quality product that would do for what I wanted. I was surprised and grateful to receive an OEM product in a SMEG bag. How do they do it. By the way - fitted in 10 mins and works like a dream.

Worked as expected
Easy to fit once I worked out that there were nuts beneath the connection covers as well as outside them. A simple diagram of parts would have been useful. Fitted and works. Time will tell how long it works for, though as it is SMEG branded it should last a long while.
