What does the carbon brush do for the vacuum cleaner?
The carbon brush in a vacuum cleaner serves the function of conducting electrical current to the motor. It makes contact with the commutator, allowing the motor to receive the necessary power for operation. The carbon brush plays a crucial role in ensuring the motor's performance and longevity.
What damages the carbon brush?
Continuous use and friction against the commutator can cause the brushes to wear down and decrease conductivity and efficiency.
Excessive heat, dust accumulation, or poor maintenance practices like infrequent cleaning or neglecting to replace worn brushes can also contribute to damage.
Electrical issues such as voltage spikes or improper wiring also lead to premature brush wear or failure.

fast, informative, reliable
I love this site/company and their products. They have very easy to follow videos and information to explain what you need and how to fit it for almost everything that can be fixed. They are the most environmentally friendly and sustainable company I have met doing this stuff and are based on the principle of "fix it if you can and stop throwing stuff away". Saves me money as don't have to keep buying new cookers, hoovers etc whenever something breaks on them. Cheap and reliable, easy to navigate and also make payments too. Delivery fast and no hassle. I have used Ransom Spare several times before and will be using them again in the future. Just wish that they sold parts for more / other equipment too. (Audio etc) Makes a change for things to go so smoothly when buying on the web.

Easy to fit and good quality
Only "easy to fit" thanks to the excellent youtube video - without which I might never have attempted such a thing. Full credit to Ransom spares for encouraging a repairing culture, rather than sending more stuff to landfill. The part could have arrived a bit quicker, but other than that, cannot fault the service. There were cheaper equivalents online, but, in my experience, cheapest is rarely best in these cases...and the part is not exactly expensive.

Exact spare for Henry vacuum
Easy to fit using instructions from website's video. Once the charcoals were install, the vacuum cleaner became fully functional as new.

Good quality part
Although this part is red and mine were black or brown, it clearly was the correct part and fixed the 2nd hand Henry hover that i had brought as spares or repair. Perfect part and a fair price. Arrived within 3days standard delivery. And thanks to Ransoms for handy diy video.

Are the spares for a hetty as well

Hi Linda, this carbon brush is compatible with the DL21104T motor. You'll need to check the existing motor in your Henry to make sure it has the same number as this. If it's different, please fill out a part enquiry with the numbers from the motor and we can look in to this for you.
